10 - 13 MAY 2024 - KESWICK
A long weekend in the Lakes in May for yoga, walking, cycling or swimming and reconnecting to nature, your practice and yourself. You might just wish to curl up on a sofa with a cup of coco and a good book. However we spend our time, the pace will be gentle and our gaze will be mindful.
Our hosts are BJ and Hannah, and we will be staying in their stunning Victorian Lakeland home in Keswick. There are five bedrooms available, two for single occupancy and three for shared occupancy.
A precious part of any yoga retreat is to get the space and time to concentrate on aspects of yoga that can get overlooked in our conventional weekly classes. I offer opportunities for silence, stillness, meditation, chanting and pranayama as well as diving deeper into our asana to provide inspiration, clarity and breakthrough opportunities. My training and practice of Sivananda, Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, ensures spiritual space, flowing transitions and clarity. There is something for everyone and every body. A complete beginner would find the weekend too intense, however anyone with a grounding in yoga (at least 6 months of consistent commitment) will find it illuminating and uplifting to take this precious time for themselves. We have hired an exceptionally lovely hall for our practice, however if the weather proves beautiful, we will get outside and unroll our mats on the grass.
Travel to the Lake District by public transport is the kindest way for the environment. You could for example get the train to Penrith and then a bus to Keswick - these run every hour. For cyclists it’s a two hour ride from the train station at Penrith to the B&B. We have every intention of taking our bikes. There is parking for those who will need to travel by car.
